Babies!!!?

I’m 25 years old, married, and neither my husband or I want kids for at least another five years. There are so many things still left to do… traveling and going to grad school are big priorities for us.
But all I can think about are babies. Day in and day out! A lot of babies are being born around me. I want to do baby crafts and decorate nurseries! lol
How can I stop this baby madness!?
(Please don’t say babysit because that only makes it worse).

  1. Yeah, we all go through that Baby Phase! Tell your heartstrings they’re going to have to be pulled a lot more for the next few years because you want to be sure you have no regrets about being tied down to having kids. In the meantime, start on those baby crafts for your future children, and if those around you like what they see, you can make some for their children as well. Just keep looking to the future, my dear. Make a list of exactly what you want to accomplish instead of just saying “travel”. What does travel mean to you? A trip around the world? Going to India? A cruise? Be sure you know what so that you can cross them off your list as you go along. If your goals are undetermined, you’ll never find the right time to get pregnant. I don’t think you want that!

  2. I’m 28 married and when we decided to get married I was still studying and working hard so naturally I didn’t want any kids. Now my life is a lot less hectic and i have baby fever too.
2 years ago (my first baby fever) I was ready to explode, as I knew it was my hormones screaming “Babyyyy!!!!” and got a puppy.
Last year I got baby fever just before we went to Japan for 1 month. Japan was a good distraction by the way.
Now I got baby fever numero 3. And we are not going to Japan or any other exotic place. How am I going to distract myself? I just can’t cope. I’m browsing baby/fertlity/TTC forums like a half brain idiot.
Female hormones are a curse I tell you!
Btw hubby doesn’t want any babies.

  3. I know what you mean…
My husband and I agreed not to have kids for 3-4 years into our marriage and I was perfectly happy with that. But when I see my friends getting pregnant etc. I want one too.
However, I do try to be realistic about it – there are many things I still want to do (and my life is very busy at the moment) and I try to look at the bigger picture – babies cry and cry and tie you down and you really have to be ready for that. Just relax. You are still so young!

  4. Its called hormones you can’t stop it you either have to do what nature intended or get a grip and put it on the back burner. But don’t wait to long the older you get the more peace and quite you want and the younger you are the better equipped you are at handling a lot of noise.

  5. Get a puppy from the shelter. It’s the next best thing to a baby. It requires a lot of attention, a lot of work, and it gives a lot of love! You will feel good for saving the puppy plus you’ll get a look at the amount of time and dedication a baby will take (x about 100). Good luck and God Bless.

  6. Get some hobbies and stop obsessing about babies. Or get a puppy. Or spend 5 minutes at a checkout line that has a ton of screaming kids in it…that’ll change your mind.

ADD ON- I agree with “A” the longer you wait, that HARDER all that “adult freedon” is to give up!

  8. ticktickticktickticktickticktickticktick…
    thats your clock reminding you!

  9. evaluate your priorities

  10. then make babaies

  11. Have one.

  12. Not to worry you,but when i started getting baby fever….i felt the same way….two days later…i found out i was pregnant….it could be your hormones….

  13. this exact thing happened to me…not too long ago.
all i could think about was being a mommy…
but on the other hand, i knew our lives were going to change drastically….
    so we bought a dog…
