Best Infant-toddler Car Seats?
I want one that is convertible and will grow with my nine month old, so rear- then forward facing…..also FAA safe for flying. My car is relatively compact so what would be a good choice? Thanks…there are so many to choose from!!

Britax is the best car seat out there, but it is pricey.
Fisher Price Safe Voyage Convertible is an alternative. Manufactured by Britax and sold by Fisher Price. It models the Britax Marathon.
Sold for $130 compared to over $200. This is what we have… http://www.albeebaby.com/fiprsavodeco1.h… they offer free shipping too.
Absolutely go with Britax. They are spendy, but it is well worth the extra money. I currently own the Roundabout and the Marathon and love them both. If you have a very small car, the Roundabout might fit better. Then Roundabout and the Marathon are basically the same seat, but the Marathon is bigger. The Roundabout goes to 40 lbs, the Marathon to 65. The Marathon is a lot taller, and a bit wider than the Roundabout. If you have a big baby and can get the Marathon in your car, it will be a better deal, but if your child is small or if the Marathon takes up too much room for you, the Roundabout is a great carseat. My kids are all big, off the charts for height and weight, and they’ve outgrown the Roundabout at 2 1/2 years old. They haven’t outgrow the Marathon before they’ve gone the a booster seat.
The Britax seats are just made better. Thicker, smoother plastics, EPS foam, higher quality fabric that doesn’t get bally or catch on your skin, thicker higher quality straps that don’t twist as much, etc. If you are here in the US, you can order a Marathon from Target, and if it doesn’t fit in your car you can return it to a Target store and order the Roundabout.
Good luck!
We have 2 Britax Marathons and LOVE them! They have installed well in every car we have ever tried them in (Corolla, CRV, super tiny 2 door Saturn coupe, Chevy Astro Van, Toyota Matrix, etx), easy to use, rearface to 33or35lbs, then forward face to 65lbs, easy to use.
i dont know about FAA safe, but the cosco scenera had gotten good reviews, and is only about $40. its been great for my daughter. I got mine at kmart, but have also seen it at target, and a cute pink one at walmart.http://www.target.com/gp/search/601-2023…
Britax. They make the safest seats out there, and while they are pricier than some, they will last you a long time, since their weight capacities are higher in the convertible seats (some go up to 65 pounds). Besides, you can’t really put a price on your child’s safety.http://www.britaxusa.com/
Britax hands down. They sell two seats made for compact cars. They are certified for aircraft travel.http://www.britaxusa.com/products/defaul…
I bought 2 Eddie Bower convertible car seats. I love them. I’m not sure about taking them on a plane but there great. The cost is a little high but worth it.
