Hi Anyone Take Antidepressants While Pregnant? Or Know Anyone Who Did?
i am 44 and might be preg with our first child (we didnt think we could have children but im not sure i am yet but i am 5 days late)
i have been on paxil for a few years for depression, panic attacks and it really saved my life ( was suicidal before paxil)
i can’t just come off paxil if i am preg, what am i supposed to do, im already at risk cause of my age, we would be thrilled to have a baby but at the same time im freaking out that something will be wrong
please anything you can say to help would be appreciated xoxo

I was on Zoloft at the end of my second pregnancy. I had really bad PPD with my first child so my doctor was trying to avoid the same situation. And it worked for me. The Zoloft was great. I had been feeling lots of anxiety and depression in my second trimester and within two weeks I felt much better. And I took it for 6 weeks after her birth. And this time around I didn’t have PPD at all. And my daughter was born very healthy and alert. Actually she is now almost a year old and she ahead of all her milestones thus far.
I think Zoloft is generally considered the best antidepressant for a pregnant woman. Although I have heard of some woman taking Paxil and others while pregnant and having good outcomes.
I hope you all best. Take care
You have to tak to your doctor about it if its not ok then they should prescribe yo antoner type of antidepressant
You would need to speak to your doctor. I was on Pristiq when I found out that I was pregnant. I stopped taking it, even though I was told that it was safe to take, and had no side effects at all and because of the pregnancy hormones have felt wonderful since. There are antidepressants that you can take while pregnant but you would need to speak to your doctor about it.
