savlon healing spray or cream is what i would recommend. my1year old daughter has her ears pierced,it was fairly saw for a week or so also you need to bath it in cool boiled water with a drop of salt mixed in twice a day, always wash hands thoroughly before touching infected area. hope this helps and your baby gets well soon. i wouldn't recommend hydrogen peroxide!!

Clean it with soap and water and put antibiotic ointment on it. Do NOT use perioxide, that stuff makes it more difficult to heal.

Hydrogen perioxide is great for killing bacteria, unfortunately it kills newly developing tissue as well and in some people, will delay healing of ear piercings. I recommend using witch hazel which will clean the piercing without damaging the new skin. Also be sure to turn the earings everytime you think about it everyday. If all else fails, your daughter may be allergic to the earrings themselves. A fix for this it to quickly change the earring to 14 K gold (nickle free) earrings, don't freak about any blood (it can be done), and leave them in for at least six weeks, 24 hrs a day with cleaning.

you could also use q-tip with alcohol or just a soapy cotton ball, the idea is just to keep the area clean, I only cleaned my daughters earring area every so often, not everyday, my daughter got her ear pierced right after her Hep shot and has never had an infection and I have two pierced ears that I have had for 10 years and one for 20 years. If that doesn't work you might need new earrings with nickle-free post or 14kt gold.

Hydrogen peroxide is likely the BEST thing you can use.
Hydrogen Peroxide is so simple and safe, it actually becomes water when left in bright light, because it loses an oxygen molecule.
Hydrogen Peroxide is H202, so in order for her to be allergic, she would basically have to be allergic to air and water.
Peroxide will clean the area, kill germs, and introduce oxygen to the wound, which will help it heal.
Try washing it with warm water to get the "crusties" off and then a cotton ball soaked in peroxide. Freshen the cotton ball as it drips/soaks in.
Do that several times a day, especially after baths, etc.
Good luck!!!
I'll bet that helps.

try wishing you never got them peirced in the first place, infected ears hurt, hope you feel bad for puting your child through the pain for really no good reason. take the ear ring out and let it heal, maybe get it done again when they are old enough to want it in the first place.
