Infant Tylenol For Two Month Old?
My son just got his two month shots today and I want to give him tylenol drops but the doctor won’t call me back and there isn’t any recommendation on the medicine package. He is 13 pounds, if that has anything to do with dosage. Help please!

He can take .8 (one dropperful) of the infant’s tylenol. Here is a dosage chart I have saved on my computer…You always go by the weight over the age.http://www.longpondpeds.com/htdocs/RESOU…
My Pediatrician told me it was ok to give my 2 month old “infant Tylenol” even though it didn’t give instructions for children under 2. He said that’s just a precautionary measure taken by the drug manufacturer. Anyway, here is a link to a helpful chart. If you have the concentrated Tylenol drops (80mg per 0.8ml) you can give him half a dropperfull- (40mg/.4ml)
Infant tylenol if fine to give him. I have the chart right in front of me and for his weight, give him one full dropper full. If you are going to give it to him make sure that you give him the correct dosage. My Pediatrician told me that a lot of parents ( I was one of them ) think that if you give them less it will be better for them, however you need to give them the exact amount they need for their weight or it has little to no effect and won’t completely ease their pain. So you are basically giving them medicine for nothing. I hope this helps!!!
For his weight they say to give .8 ml. (the measurments are on the side of the dropper)
Oh and its highly recommended NOT to give more then 8 dosages in a 24 hour period.
I was on yahoo to ask a question about my daughter who got two month old shots today. She is twelve pounds and shot nurse said to give 0.4 infant tylenol drops. It’s marked on the dropper. I just gave her some because she already seems fussy. Nurse didn’t say how often, so I’m going with the dosage instructions on the side. Good Luck
I have the concentrated infant tylenol drops and my doctor said it is OK to give the baby tylenol for their shots or colds I only give my little one .04/.4 (dont remember what it is if it is .0 or just .) but that is half of the doppler. and it works WONDERS
Next time ask them to give the baby Tylenol at the beginning of the appointment. Then you won’t have to worry about it. It’s a tip that another mom gave me and my ped was very happy to oblige.
After 13lbs, he can have the .8ml (2nd line on the dropper) of Infant Tylenol every 4-6 hours.
My daughter who was 10 lbs at the time of her 2 month old shots, her ped said she can have .76mL. Which we rounded up to .8 with her approval.
