Is It Ok For An Infant To Potty 3 Or 4 Times Before The Diaper Has To Be Changed?

it’s not like you really know how many times the child is going “potty” anyway. Sorry for all the rude answers people gave. With my infants I always change before and after naps. With my toddlers I go more by the 2-3 hour rule. Good Luck. Some kids are more sensitive to it. Get poop off right away.

  1. No! You should change the diaper as soon as you notice is dirty. Imagine how you would feel if you were wearing a diaper like that. I believe you should treat a baby the same way you would like to be treated.

  2. No, it’s not. How would you like to have to sit in urine soaked pants? It causes diaper rash which really causes the baby pain. Diapers are expensive, but you have to change them.

  3. no way, “just me” is totally wrong, thats disgusting, not to mention unhealthy, how about you pissing yourself 3 or 4 times before you change

  4. A newborn puts out a lot of urine and needs to be changed often because the diapers are very small and their skin is very sensitive. A toddler can if need be urinate twice in the same diaper since it has a higher capacity but this is not recommended. Feces should Always be changed promptly!!

  5. no

  6. Um No, do you want to sit in your urine or poop?

  7. No its not because they could get an infection. I hope this helps!!!

  8. If you are talking about urination – yes. Just don’t wait too long or let it get too soaked. But poop must be changed right away.
Think how many times your child will pee throughout the night before morning when you can change him.
Unless you know exactly when your child pees it is impossible to change him after each time. Every 2-3 hours like others have said should do it.

  9. Not really. I mean you’re not endangering the infant, but poop is not sanitary for it to remain against your skin, particularly if the baby is already eating solid food. Baby’s butt is going to get irritated, at the least. You want to hear more screaming?

  10. Every two hours or if they have a BM. I think as long as the diaper isn’t to heavy with urine that it can wait, and if you change it every 2 hours it wont by to heavy. Diapers of today are wonderful they help pull the moisture away.

  11. I think not. You run the risk of diaper rash and that can be awful for the little one. You don’t have to change the first time it wets. But poop should be done immediately But I wouldn’t let a baby in wet diaper for long. Even with the new diapers it still is against the babies bottom.

  12. no!

  13. NO . NOT AT ALL !
i do diaper checks after 2 hours of putting a new one on . if after 2 hours they are fresh and dry still i check them an hour later .

  14. no but my daughter pees in her the minute i fasten it so i let her use hers twice.
    thats it

  15. You know when you notice that the baby is wet or poopy then you should change it. Really all that feces and urination is not good for thier skin. Hopefully you use a really good diaper that pulls the wetness away from the baby. When they get up in the middle of the night I would change them everytime. Honestly and I’m not trying to be ugly here but would you want to sit in that stuff???

  16. No! Guess you aren’t going to win parent of the year.
You are inviting a really bad rash from the acid from the urine. Plus you want a kid to sit in their own crap and urine for how long? As soon as the kid goes to the bathroom change the diaper!

  17. what do you mean potty? If you mean pee I think 2 times is plenty enough to have a baby sit in their own pee. But #2, uh if you are letting them sit in that more than 1 time, then mommy needs to go to some parenting classes.

  18. Rule of thumb where I work is every two hours or if they have a BM. I feel as long as the diaper isn’t to heavy with urine that it can wait. Diapers of today help pull the moisture away.

  19. I have been taking care of children for 31 years. I am going to tell you generally no. Like our potty theirs contains acids which if left in place too long will cause a rash that can turn very nasty and become sore and uncomfortable. If you are out and about it can be let go while traveling but careful care must be taken to cleanse properly. Preventive care is necessary to keep things under control. I highly recommend using Destin ointment and Caldecene powder together. I always did the trick for me. Good luck and Congratulations.

    Ew, no….be a grown-up and change that $hit

  21. It’s more about volume than length of time. If you are using disposables, you’ll get the feel of how much wetness is too much by testing how squishy the diaper gets. If your baby is prone to rashes, you will need to change them sooner.
Always change a poopy diaper right away.

  22. you should check the diaper every 2 hours at least. Daycare will do every 2-3 hours.

  23. NO!!!

  24. Hell no! Change the diaper! What are you, white trash? Why don’t you s*** your pants and wear it for awhile? That is inexcusable. You should not have brought children into this world if you don’t have more sense than that.

  25. Urination, maybe once or twice and occasionally three times, depending on how much time in between. The thing is though, you dont want piss to sit in a pamper attached to a baby. Soaked urination causes irritation, itchyness, infections, and a bad stench as strong as pneumonia.
Feces should be changed right away regardless each time. Unless of course, it`s still coming. Then you wait until it finishes, then change the diaper.
