What Do You Use To Clean Bathtub For Baby?
My spouse and I are thinking of moving our son’s bath to the big bathtub that we use for showers. He is just getting too big for his infant bathtub. But I am wondering what would be best to clean it first?

I try to keep chemicals out of my house, I have always used what my mother used.
A scrub and baking soda!
For a more natural no chemical cleanser…try Baking Soda and a scrub brush or pad…its a natural abrasive ( works great on bad diaper rashes too, try it in the bath water) and gets all the scum off. You can also mix it with lemon.
Or you can still use whatever you use now to clean the tub/shower, but just make sure you rinse it well with hot water. I use comet for the tough scums and for touch ups I just use Pine Sol..I rinse very well..and so far baby has been ok ..been taking baths in the big tub since she was around 6 months old.
Also another gentle to everyone and no chemical is the ” Mr. Clean Eraser” Was suggested on here, I thought I give it a whirl and it works Great..squeaky clean tub.
When my son was still in a baby tub, I always washed it with dish soap because it was gentle and wouldn’t be too abbrasive on the plastic.
When he moved up to our bathroom tub, I continued to clean it with what I have always cleaned the tub with, which is comet. It disenfects and really scrubs it clean. Then I rinse it well and thats it. As long as you rinse the cleaners away well after cleaning, it shouldn’t harm your baby in any way.
If you are looking for natural cleaners though, try vinegar.
My son is 6 months old. I have a infant bathtub by SafetyFirst that goes up to two year old so that I wont have to worry about “big people germs” and using harsh chemicals from my adult bathtub. I clean it with Clorox Anywhere Spray and store it away until each use. I bought it at Walmart for 26 bucks…..just an alternative to give ya!
I used comet. Same thing I always use. You just have to rinse it very well. As with any cleaner for anyone using the tub.
There are a few natural cleaners that work well also, baking soda is good for removing soap scum. I’ve used that and a scrubby before.
I use Softscrub with bleach and rinse and wipe and rinse and wipe about twenty times. I have this thing about germs and like to have the tub disinfected before I put him in it.
I use vinegar. About 50/50 with water it dissolves soap scum.
Sometimes if I think its really icky I use a small amount of bleach containing cleaner and rinse it well.
I use a 10% bleach solution, and rinse well. But remember to not “baby” your baby against germs for too long or they will not develop their immune system.
Are you bathing in an infected tub or something? Just wash or scrub the scum off and bath the baby already. DOnt forget to use soap.
i used the baby bubble bath or shampoo and just scrub really hard…
I use what I clean our own shower/tub with and like everyone else said rinse well. But after every time I use it..I give it a quick rinse after I have given my son a bath.
i use green cleaners with less harsh chemicals but you have to clean more frequently with them>
water and a scrubbing brush
