Around 9 months we introduced it through foods... but didn't give them whole milk till they were 1 year old.
They did great with dairy products and milk in recipes.
Best wishes

My doctor said not before one year because the babies intestines aren't capable of handling whole milk proteins. it's a big change on their body and the formula is something that is easier for them to digest.

i started within foods at 9 months, at 11 months i started giving him small sippy cups of about 2-3 oz a day, then slowly began giving him more. i also switched to the second step formula at 9 months to ease the transition. today with him being 16 months old he still loves his milk. :)

does your baby have any dairy at all yet? yogurt? cheese? i started my son at 11 months, but he had already had other dairy products, so i wasn't worried about allergies. i just gave him a sippy cup with dinner to start. from a lot of reading i've done, "they" really urge you not to switch before 1 year more to be sure your baby is getting all that they need.
oh i also added a little to his breakfast cereal to start also.
good luck

The reason they suggest you wait until 12 months to give them whole milk if because the digestive track is not developed enough to digest it properly. It isn't so much for the allergies. I waited until he was 12 months. I was still breastfeeding and would give him milk with his meals. I did give him diary earlier than that with yogurt and cottage cheese. It made him gassy and he was up most of the night but that was at 9 months. I waited until about 10 1/2 months before I started giving it to him again. He did fine with it then.

We waited until 12 months to introduce whole milk. Formula and Breastmilk have a lot more nutrients than just whole milk. That's one of the main reasons that doctors suggest for you to wait.
