If You Had To Choose Between These Cars?

Okay so I know this isn’t a baby question, but I hate the answers I get from any other section, and I find that I pretty much only get sensible answers if I ask here…
Okay so I’m having a dilemma, I’m getting a new car tomorrow, and we went shopping around, we found a Lincoln LS, and a Pontiac Grand Prix… so of course I love the Lincoln, but it’s a V8, and it’s real wheel drive, which means its a gas guzzler, and if it rains or snows it’s useless and we get alot of rain and snow here… so we’ve (my fiancee and I) have decided not to buy it, so were going to the dealer tomorrow to get the Grand Prix… but I’m crushed because I really want the Lincoln, but with my driving history I really dont think I can handle the car, and I have a baby now, so I think a Grand Prix would be the better choice… so Ladies what do you think… if you had to choose which one would you go for? I’m worried more about safety on the ice and wet roads really then the luxury of the car, so put yourself into that thinking. Plus the Grand Prix is alot cheaper, so more money to spend on my son :)

Definitely go with the Grand Prix. You made valid points for why that one would be better:
    1) Your driving history. Only YOU know that so if it’s something you’re worried about definitely take that into consideration.
    2) Safety. This is, above all, the MOST important factor.
    3) More money in your wallet!
We have two vehicles but “my” car is a Pontiac G6 and I love it. It does GREAT on gas mileage and we haven’t had any issues with it thus far, except we just had to replace the battery but that’s no biggie.

I’d get the Grand Prix…right now with kids and the economy, money is everything! Plus, both cars are ok with kids. When the weather gets bad, just get proper tires for the car and you’ll be okay.

  3. I’d choose a Honda Civic..Inexpensive to purchase, cheap to upkeep, great gas mileage, drive great, very safe cars.

  4. The Grand Prix..and you pretty much answered why this car is the better choice..I agree with you! Wait until your kids are all grown up and out of the house, then get the car of your dreams!! :-) )

  5. sounds like your mind is already made up….there are plenty of more ‘luxury’ cars to choose from if u don’t want the grand prix….maybe shop around some more

I dont see any reasons not to get the Grand Prix

  7. My sister has an ‘04 Grand Prix, and it handles fine in the winter without snow tires (we’re from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, so it’s not unusual to have snow/ice 5-7 months of the year). We also hit a deer with the car in November and the car didn’t suffer as much damage as I expected it to, though the airbags didn’t go off at all, which concerned us – still, I was 5 months pregnant at the time and was not harmed in the accident at all.
The car is very low to the ground, so there is sometimes trouble getting in or out of the driveway after the plows come through and make a little snowbank at the end of the driveway. We’ve had problems with the electrical system, and occasionally it takes two or three attempts to start, but these issues could be results of the poor body work done initially from the deer accident. Also, because the car is so low to the ground, elderly, pregnant women, or people with limited mobility may have trouble getting out of the car.
Other than the few issues mentioned above, the car is a great car. I’d recommend it to others.

I would definitely go with the Grand Prix. From what you stated: “but with my driving history I really dont think I can handle the car, and I have a baby now”….I think you already answered yourself. Always Safety First. And plus, like you said, you will have more money to spend on your little one! And might I add, he sure is a cutie pie!
To answer your question, which one would I go for? DEFINITELY the Grand Prix. =)
