How Do I Get Rid Of My Puppy’s Fleas Organically/ Naturally?
Okay my dog, Lulu (Carine terrier), has fleas i need help with prevention and ways to get rid of them! Please. it has to be natural and organic, she’s my baby and all the store bought stuff hurts dogs. she’s only 8 months old. shes really small and i feel so bad and helpless (i’m 14) we live in like the country of NJ so it’s easy for the dogs to get fleas, she is so small so she gets more easily. i need help! please!

Natural remedies are garlic as it secretes through the skin and fleas and bugs can’t stand it. You could also make a small solution of water and vinegar to help deter them.
Unfortunately once your pup has already got them it is harder to get rid of them. I don’t know where you got the idea that store bought stuff can hurt the dogs? You can get a spot on from your vet which you just put on the back of the pups neck, between the shoulder blades which will kill any fleas it has and prevent her from getting any more. It won’t hurt her.
Here is a link you should find helpful, its for natural flea treatment and they also do a wormer toohttp://www.homoeopet.co.uk/fleaaway.htm
add, also remember to wash her bedding on a really high temperature and basically EVERYTHING in the house that can be washed needs to be, once she is treated and again soon after, even carpets, rugs, curtains etc. All animals in the house need to be treated/checked.
I have not tried it but apparently if you put a bowl of water under light then that will attract any fleas (they jump into the light and cant get out the water if you put detergent in it) after you have washed everything and treated her.
If she is prone to getting them a lot then with the regular use of that product, weekly washing of bedding and bathing her if necessary, ie after she has been in long grass etc.
ADD: Also I would make sure she gets a tiny bit liver once a week and a little garlic in the diet for future prevention, this is a natural deterrent.
Salt and baby shampoo works great. The shampoo makes the hair nice and soft, plus feels good on the skin. Even if it gets in her eyes it wont sting. The salt will actually kill fleas and more importantly flea eggs. You can use the salt by itself, but the shampoo makes it cover better, easier to dissolve and wash out, plus the dogs hair gets really soft
You are right in staying away from commercial flea products. They contain chemical insecticides that can lead to liver disease in both you and your dog.
You can try Target Spray For Fleas instead. Canine Target Spray is an all-natural alternative. It is a highly effective insect repellent, which discourages dog fleas from nesting on your best friend.http://www.petwellbeing.com/dog-fleas-p6…
Well when she was just a little puppy *did you put the flee colar on her*? You shoulda cause its verry important.Well at this point youll need to use the SPRAY talk to Vet . .
Hope this helps! ^^
Where did you get the idea all store bought stuff hurts dogs?
Fleas hurt dogs and if the infestation is heavy enough it will make your dog anemic, not to mention miserable and uncomfortable with constant itching.
If your dog has fleas then she also has tapeworm which harms dogs by robbing the dog of nutrition.
Flea prevention is the lesser of two evils if you wish to keep your dog healthy. There is no documented evidence that garlic or anything else will keep the fleas off your dog and out of your environment.
It’s all well and good to want your dog to be chemical free, we would all like that to be so but unfortunately unless she lives in a bubble it’s not possible. We live in a world of full of chemicals and pesticides.
It’s easy for dogs to get fleas wherever you live. Not just in the country of NJ.
What makes you think small dogs get fleas more easily than bigger dogs? That doesn’t make any sense.
Now that you have fleas in your carpet, furniture and in the dog’s bedding and everywhere else you really have no choice (if you want a healthy dog) than to take her to the vet and get a flea preventative and have the dog wormed.
Following that you will need to use chemicals to rid your home of fleas or the dog will keep getting reinfested as the eggs and larvae hatch or you will be on a never ending treadmill with flea infestation.
Do you think vaccinations are not good thing either. If this is the case then your dog is vulnerable to parvovirus and other potentially fatal disease.
I think you should have a serious rethink and take your dog to the vet and have her treated for fleas and all worms…including tapeworm. Not every wormer does tapeworm.
