Our cats and dogs are used to sleep in our bed. In a few weeks our baby is going to move in, and for safety-reasons I do not want the baby and the cats sleeping in the same room (mostly I’m afraid one of the cats might decide to sleep on top of baby.)
Is there a gentle way I can get our pets used to another sleeping location? One of my cats is rather sensitive and tends to ‘perfum’ the carpet, if stressed. So I want the transition for her as easy and stress-free as possible.

She is 2 months old and got her immunizations on Tuesday. She had the normal fussy day that I would expect after getting her shots, but she has been sleeping ever since! She is normally a very wakeful baby, taking a few 30 minute naps during the day and sleeping all night, but she has been sleeping ever since she got her shots. I was just wondering if she could still be feeling the side effects, or if I should be looking for another cause.

…especially when the only thing on the list of ingredients is carrot. It sure doesn’t taste like just carrot to me. Cook organic carrots at home without salt, just in water, puree them and taste it. then taste Nestle’s baby carrot food, which according to the packaging also only contains carrot. i’m sure they add things to get baby’s hooked on the stuff.

When my daughter was born I kept her in my room with me. They gave me the option to let her stay in the nursary overnight, but I declined. My question is, do they soothe the newborns every time?
It seemed like my daughter constantly nursed those first few nights (I had a cesarean) they said they would bring her back to eat. It just seemed like she really wanted to be held and swaddled, do the nurses comfort the babies in the nursery if they are sure they are not hungry?

My wife and I were recently chosen as God parents. I’m just curious how much of a cultural necessity it is to nominate someone for the role in the event of both parents meeting their end. Is this a practice that dates back to the days of massive famine, plague, or spontaneous combustion of the parents in the magical time of miracles like when jesus walked on water and what not?
