After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park , forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno’s damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesque on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother’s wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast…because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live.

I’m writing a story about a girl who is pregnant, but she gets into a pretty bad car crash, she breaks a leg, gets a concusoin, and is pretty scratched up. She would only b like 2 wkd pregnant at the time of the crash, if this happened in real life what are the odds the baby would live?

8 days ago my 7 y o border collie was dx with large aggressive inoperable brainstem tumor and takes 10 mg predsisone per day and i changed her diet from kibble to zero sugar zero carb all organic chicken eggs and veggies plus budwig flax and cottage cheese and she did really well she ate her dinner tonight well and her eye redness went away and she quit buckling her paw but her eyes are crosseyed all of the sudden this morning and now she wont get up even for water which she’s crazy for water usually and her eyes arent red still and no seizures or crying and her heart and breathing are normal and gums pink but still wont get up and im afraid shes dying the vet said he can’t do anything anyways so not to bring her in please help is my baby dying????? sorry bad typing can only use one hand

the dogs are constantly waking my 3 week old baby. (Which isn’t fun for a very cranky, sleep deprived new mommy)
We live in an apartment and we just got new next door neighbors who through the bedroom wall you can hear very loudly their two rambunctious dogs barking, fighting, knocking their tails against the wall. One of the dogs is rather large, appears to be a Great Dane (or Great Dane mix) the other is a little smaller, looks to be some sort of hound. (The dog howls all day long)
Doesn’t matter if the owners are home or not the dogs are constantly making noise, mostly howling/barking. Yesterday I was resting in bed while my baby was asleep (over in her crib, she sleeps in our room we only have a 1 bedroom for now) and the two dogs got into some sort of fight, it sounded painful even my dogs were concerned as they stood by the wall and listened. It was very loud and it sounded like one of the dogs was being hurt pretty bad. But my baby woke up, and was fussy and crying .
My baby has a touch of colic so when we finally get her to sleep, its very important to not wake her or it could be hours before we get more sleep.
Anyways the tails or bones hitting up against the wall I can deal with, the occaisonal loud skimmish I can deal with, but the constant barking/howling I can’t.
I feel I should give them some time to get settled into their new surroundings. I’m a dog owner and I know that dogs go through an adjustment period when moved to a new place, but if this keeps going on how long do I let it go on before either saying something or reporting them?
(I’m more tolerant than most of our neighbors, chances are they have already been reported)
I just know my baby needs rest and I need rest….and this goes on pretty much 24/7 right now. (Day or night, owners home or not….though they should be trying to quiet the dogs when they are home)

I may soon be caring for my 4½-month-old grand daughter while her parents work. If we do that, I would like to get a car seat for my car, so we don’t have to keep switching it in and out all the time. I know next to nothing about car seats! We weren’t required to use them with my kids.
I want to know how old she she should be before we go from rear facing to forward facing. I hope to get a convertible model that can do both, and will not have to be replaced too soon. I would appreciate recommendations for ones that would be easy for an uncoordinated grandma with back problems to deal with and use. I doubt that it matters, but I have a PT Cruiser with leather seats.
I know the safest location is the middle of the back seat, but that is about all I know. I welcome any and all tips from parents who are familiar with car seats. Thanks so much!

Anyone have any ideas on Idea’s & Recipes for my 7 month old – He eats anything (lol litrally). He loves finger foods too, so there is no restriction really.
Any idea;s & home mae recipes?
Also Could I make it up a few breakfast meals at a time and freeze it? it would make it so much easier? But how would i defrost it? My son HATES anything to cold? how could i make this work? As I imagine it would be odd to heat up fruit lol???

i was riding in a car with some friends and my children, when some strange commotion started going on in the sky. I had this strange feeling come over me, that this was not normal and something big was about to take place. There were some lights fluttering around in the sky, not lights of this world, but of outer space. then there were these 2 people floating down from the sky. They had a beam of light and would search people with it. When the beam of light was directly on me i could tell they were reading my thoughts and what kind of person i was. Then I was put into this room with several other people who were getting sick by the moment. It was very hot and sticky in the room, and we weren’t forced to stay there. It was almost like people were hiding there. I was sitting with my kids on a pew and i had 2 infants that i was holding. (I only have one infant) and i could feel the love of them, the innocence, the contentment, they didnt have a clue of all the monstrosity going on, and it was almost as if i were holding them just to feel security. i started looking around to find someone to ask what was going on, and this old woman who looked very odd and out of place looked at me like she was reading my thoughts and said “its the berry’s, they will give you worms in your stomach” i turned away really fast because the look in her eyes scared the crap out of me. i went to find my toddler daughter so that we could get the heck out of that place and i found her in a line of people and rebelling to come with me. I didn’t have the time nor the patience for her behavior and just felt like leaving here there on the spot. I went outside and it was liek the town had turned into this chapel. and the whole place was empty. not a soul or sound in sight. then i heard this woman and she was talking to another woman and they had that same ora about them that the old woman had, it looked as if they were guarding the doors meanwhile gossiping. so i quietly went another direction so they wouldn’t see me. i went into this other area and ran into another woman a younger one sitting on a pew staring at me with a smirk on her face, and she was one like the others, and i knew that i could not escape and that was the end of teh dream.
