My son is almost six weeks old. He liked being swaddled in the first few weeks of being born but throws a fit if we try it now. He doesn’t like he hands being tied down and will squirm and cry until they are released. I have tried to wait a while to see if he’ll calm down but he doesn’t like being restrained. He usually sleeps with his hands over his head.
I have tried giving him a bath around 8 or 9 p.m. and rubbing him down with that Johnson & Johnson lavender scent lotion. He seems a tad bit more relaxed after a bath but that’s not putting him down for the night. He has been sleeping with us since he was born. His room is far away from our room and I don’t feel comfortable leaving him up there to sleep even with a monitor. He refuses to sleep in the pack and play at night. If I make sure he’s sleep he will do fine during the day, but it’s not happening at night. He wakes up every 5 to 30 minutes and cries, cries, cries. I try to soothe him my rubbing him or putting my hand on him and he isn’t having it.
I need some PROVEN tips. Tips that have worked for you, if any, that worked during this age. I expected to be sleep deprived but this is really taking a toll on me. By the time he wakes up, I feed him and burp him and he settles down (which takes a while because he’s spitting up) I am exhausted. The only time I get any relief is the weekends when my husband is off. I have realized that I’m probably not experiencing post partum depression or baby blues, but an adjustment to being a new parent.
This is the hardest thing I have ever done. I had no experience with babies and was rarely around infants and toddlers. I feel horrible because I become agitated and depressed when the evening comes because I know what is to come. I REALLY NEED TO GET MY BABY TO SLEEP IN HIS PACK AND PLAY OR CRIB as I have to go back to work on April 1st.
Also, he cries EVERYTIME he wakes up. He started doing this a couple of weeks ago.

I recently got custody of my godson, after his parents passed away in a wreck. He was only an infant at the time, but now that he is getting a bit older (one year), I am starting to wonder what I should have him call me – I was once told that a child should never call a parental figure by their first name, but I do not know if “dad” would be a good idea either, as I intend for him to “know” his parents well as he gets older, and explain how they still love him, they’re in heaven, etc, etc. My partner suggested “Uncle Eric”… but I really am at a loss here. I realise I’m making a mountain out of a molehill, but could somebody please give me suggestions? Thanks.

Ok a friend of mine’s dog had puppy’s that are red nose pits and theres ONE boy black one and he looks just like my dream dog cause that’s all i have ever wanted was a pit bull that’s black with a white chest and a line down his face that’s white and this one has it i can get the dog for $25 but my parents HATE pits cause of what the news and movies have made them how can i get them to under stand they arnt killing evil dogs keep in mind im 14 been around Hybrid wolfs chows and rottys and German Shepard’s ALL my life this will not be my first dog i know how to take care of dogs i can buy and take care of the bills that come with this dog i own a pit and beagle mix as it is NOW just he was a rescue. the mother is VERY well taken care of as is the father they have all there shots just the baby’s were un expected and also enough of the im a little child i don’t know what im doing i have a job i do school from home and i hang out with friends over the weekends or when i have free time i don’t just drop everything to go hang out i have all ready read the pit bull for dummies book and many other books about pits i have researched pits for over a year now

my husband and i decided we would like to start trying soon. i would love to have a baby this year. i’m 22 yrs old and i read the healthiest babies are born to mothers 17-22. so i dont want to leave it too late. especially as my husband is a bit older. anyway he’s a nutritonist and he gave me a list of things to do, he wants me to do this for a whole six months even before we start trying….. lol
1. I can’t eat any junk food, which means no chocolate :’( Also fast food, red meat, table sugar, salt, coffee and alcohol are all off limits.
2. I’m only allowed to eat organic food and I have to eat 8+ servings of fruits & veges everyday and 3+ servings of fish every week….. (i *hate* fish)
3. I have to take folic acid , multi vitamin, fish oil supplements
4. I have to exercise 6 days a week. My husband also wants me to gain 10 lbs because I’m only 100, but with the diet & exercise…. how is that possible??
5. I have to “cut off” my friend who’s husband is a smoker. I’m literally not allowed to see in person until the baby is born.
6. I have to throw away all my makeup and skincare products (because of the “toxic chemicals”). I’m only supposed to use toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and a few other essentials.
7. we have to hire a cleaner to clean the house because I can’t touch cleaning products (chemicals again).
8. and a weird one: I’m not allowed to go to the gas station to fill up petrol in my car.. lol
ive just summarized it , the actual thing is pages!
Do you think this is a bit over the top? By the way my husband already has two grown perfectly healthy sons and I bet his ex wife never had to go through any of this…. :’(

I’m writing a story about a girl who is pregnant, but she gets into a pretty bad car crash, she breaks a leg, gets a concusoin, and is pretty scratched up. She would only b like 2 wkd pregnant at the time of the crash, if this happened in real life what are the odds the baby would live?

8 days ago my 7 y o border collie was dx with large aggressive inoperable brainstem tumor and takes 10 mg predsisone per day and i changed her diet from kibble to zero sugar zero carb all organic chicken eggs and veggies plus budwig flax and cottage cheese and she did really well she ate her dinner tonight well and her eye redness went away and she quit buckling her paw but her eyes are crosseyed all of the sudden this morning and now she wont get up even for water which she’s crazy for water usually and her eyes arent red still and no seizures or crying and her heart and breathing are normal and gums pink but still wont get up and im afraid shes dying the vet said he can’t do anything anyways so not to bring her in please help is my baby dying????? sorry bad typing can only use one hand
